Stockholm Mean Machines engage former NFL-player Jeff Paulk
Stockholm Mean Machines, SMM, will have an NFL experienced player on the roster for their EFAF-Cup adventure. He starts in their first game against Tyrolean Raiders, in Innsbruck, 9th of May.
Jeff Paulk has played in the NFL for 3 years 1999-2001, he was drafted as #92 overall – 99 for the Atlanta Falcons. He then traded to New England Patriots were he stayed for another 2 years. Prior to playing in the NFL Jeff was with Arizona State University, one of the top ranked Universities in the US.
Jeff arrives in Stockholm week 18 and will have his first practice with SMM Friday 30th of April, at Zinkensdamm, at 6PM. He will also play in SMM´s first Superseries game against Arlanda Jets. This game is also played at Zinkensdamm on May 1st at 3PM.
This is the first time in the history of Swedish american football that a player of this CALIBER plays in a Swedish team. The expectations on Jeff, besides
the OBVIOUS, is that he will lift the game itself to a higher level and boost the interest of media around American football in Sweden.
Jeff turned down an offer from the Arena League (indoor football) earlier this year, being more curious to see what the football in Sweden was like, and just to experience Sweden.
What probably helped him reach this decision was his neighbour in Arizona, Jim McMahon, who has knowned Jeff for a long time.
Jim played for SMM the 2001 season, and still keeps in touch with the team and organization.
SMM finances Jeff’s Swedish adventure on their own, but is still and also looking for a sponsor. A sponsor that would like to be connected and associated with the biggest thing that has ever happened in Swedish American football.
OPEN PRACTICE SESSION FOR THE PRESS!!
April 30th SMM holds a practice at Zinkensdamm arena at 6PM, 18.00. Jeff will participate in the practice. He will also be available for any media concerning interviews, filming and photo.
