Thanks to a great victory over the Prague Lions in a very spectacular game the Winterthur Warriors qualified for the EFAF-Cup-semifinals, the biggest success in the teams history.

After kickoff, both teams needed a drive to warm up and get into the game. The first points were scored by the Warriors backfielder Tom Weiler (7:0) but Prague tied the score just before the end of first quarter (7:7). It was Markus Schmid, who finalized by surprising Prague’s defense (14:7). Shortly after this, J.C. William’s touchdown was made possible thanks to Antonio Morisco who diverted the opponents pass to Patrick Moore who then could intercept the ball (21:7). Few seconds before halftime, Jermaine Adamson delivered a 50yard pass into Pragues end zone (28:7). The Czech field goal attempt just minutes before was blocked by Winterthurs head coach Paul Hayes.

After the break, the Lions increased the pressure and scored again in the third (28:14) and fourth quarter to 28:21, which was useless for any of the teams. J.C. Williams’ second touchdown to the final result of 35:21 was scored just seconds after the 2-minute warning. Joseph Kinne, a Norwegian player for Winterthur, decided the thrilling last seconds by intercepting a Czech pass and ending their last drive just one yard before the Warriors’s end zone.
