Bergamo defeats Amiens

The game was decided in first quarter already. When the Spartiates received the ball after Lionīs kickoff, already in the first drive Amiens only American, QB Lucas Philipps was hurt, so that he was out of the game. That was very important for Amiens, because there offense is based to a big part on passing game. Lions will face now Stockholm in semi-final on June 18th in Bergamo.

The Lions fly to the semifinal dreaming the Vigorelli Stadium

LIONS BERGAMO 35
AMIENS SPARTIATES 6

Bergamo defeat Amiens with a large 35 - 6 and take to the semifinal that will be played next june 18th on the Stadio Comunale di Osio Football field. In that match the Lions will face the Stockholm Mean Machine who eliminated Moscow Patriots last May 15th.

Bergamo is hoping that the EFL-final, the Eurobowl, will be played in Milan at Vigorelli Stadium and the Efaf will nextly decide about(one possible alternative besides two others, Innsbruck and Vienna).

After the not so pleasant Lions performance obtained last EuroBowl match, Bergamo has played a good match granting a small ray of action to the Spartiates who lost their USA quarterback Phillips because of a strong sack by the "Italian" Noble. The Amiens' receiver Bacot turned behind the O-line and direct the offense making the team able to gain 234 yds.

As usual Lions offense was very productive in rushing games with qb Macchi (5/78) and Cross in evidence (18/140/1 td). Infact coach Rosenberg decided to line up Cross with 2 fullbacks but is a flying combination Macchi - Barbotti (4/6/ 1 Td) to bring the first Lions td.

Lions' Mulligan opens up the second quarter with a sack driveing the match to a momentary balance braked by a Macchi 50 yds. pass to Di Battista who ends is rush in end zone (+1 Marone) helped by an unlucky toch by Amiens' Moreira who delivers football in Di Battista's hands. Is Ben Mimoun (4/63/1TD) to cut the distance beetween the teams receiving a Bacot 43 yds. through (no add. points).

Once more Mulligan to sack Amiens' Bacot in fourth quarter beginning and Lions defense teaching football with Bassi intercepting an other shoot, returned in end zone!
But the offense doesn't sleep and a Macchi 53 yds. pass to Barbotti moves the scrimmage line at 2 yds. from the French goal line. Is Cross to drop the football (+1 Marone).
In the end Amiens has just the time to fail a 40 yds. field goal.
